Objectives

Iron Thunder New Zealand provides a means for eligible and like-minded riders to get together to ride, catch up socially, raise funds and enjoy the brotherhood that is motorcycling.

ITMC-NZ encourages members to ride responsibly and safely and has a policy of assisting members to ensure they have the right riding gear.

Our Crew

While ITMC-NZ is run on a day to day basis by its Executive every full member has the same level of say in the operation of ITMC-NZ.

The Executive consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms and Road Captain all of which are elected positions open to full members.

ITMC-NZ is an open club in that all information, including the clubs financial records, is available to every full member.

Our Colours and Intellectual Property

The ITMC-NZ colours are black and white, used as shown in the image to the left which is the ITMC-NZ back patch.

ITMC-NZ owns all rights to the ITMC-NZ trademarks including, but not limited to:

  1. the ITMC-NZ Thor image
  2. the word mark “Iron Thunder”
  3. the word mark “Thunder Run”

All uses of the ITMC-NZ trademarks are subject to the control and approval of ITMC-NZ.

Membership

Membership of ITMC-NZ is a privilege NOT a right. Any party applying for membership acknowledges and accepts this by applying for membership.

To be eligible for Full or Probationary membership of ITMC-NZ a person must;

  1. Be a motorcycle rider;
  2. Not be a member of another triple-set backpatch MC or “1%” MC.

Generally, ITMC-NZ does not hold your past against you, it’s yours not ITMC-NZ’s, and as long as its history that is fine. ITMC-NZ does not tolerate abuse against women, children or animals or the use of hard drugs and in particular meth.

Realms

A Realm is a regional or local club or group that has been approved by ITMC-NZ and inducted into the club as such.

While each Realm operates largely independently from ITMC-NZ and from all other Realms of ITMC-NZ they are still bound by the ITMC-NZ Constitution and Rules. Realms have their own Vice-President, Secretary, Sergeant at Arms and Road Captain who are responsible for day to day activities and work with the ITMC-NZ President and ITMC-NZ Treasurer to run the Realm.

Club History

ITMC-NZ as the only New Zealand member of the 130 plus Viking themed Motorcycle Clubs from around the world hosted the World Vikings Run near Waihi. International attendees from as far afield as the UK, Germany and Norway and members of ITMC-NZ from across the country including from the deep South came together to experience comradery, games and other forms of entertainment.
ITMC-NZ refreshed their colours and Thor became right handed.

In March 2020 Iron Thunder Motorcycle Club became an Incorporated Society in New Zealand thereby becoming a legal entity in its own right under NZ Law.

ITMC-NZ’s first constitution was put in place in December 2019.

In 2018 a group of forward thinking members somewhat frustrated with the direction of the club identified the opportunity to take the club further than had been previously envisioned and the Iron Thunder Motorcycle Club, ITMC-NZ, was formed.

The Iron Thunder brand was founded in South Auckland in June 1998.
